Three days of bliss, nestled amongst the trees

Finding connection with your body, breath and nature in Mayo

When I first discovered this venue, I was struck by the beauty all around: from the woods surrounding the house, to the stream running through the grounds and beautiful peaceful lake, it’s a sanctuary of natural beauty and serenity. The vastness and the remoteness of the landscape soothes the soul… there is a magic to this part of the West that can’t be put into words. Here are some details on how we plan to provide further food for the soul throughout during the retreat.

Yoga practices

This yoga retreat is designed and tailored for all levels of ability; from beginners to those with a more established practice. All you need to join in is an open mind.

During the retreat you will have an opportunity to experience a variety of styles, themes and paces. Everyone is encouraged to take the practice at their own pace and focus on how the yoga feels in their bodies, not how it looks.

Throughout these sessions you will have opportunities to experience:

  • Grounding Hatha practices focusing on rooting to the earth and building strong foundations

  • Restorative Yoga for deep relaxation & tapping into a state of bliss

  • Yin Yoga for deep connective tissue release & rebalance of the nervous system

  • Guided meditations, exploring energies of the chakras

  • Yoga nidra for deep rest

  • Pranayama (breath work); exploring different techniques

During every practice I will be offering lots of options and variations so everyone can take it at their own pace. Assistance and props will be provided as necessary.

Programme for weekend

The following is an outline of the plans for the weekend. Jonnie and I are keen to stress that all of these activities are invitations…there is no pressure on anyone to take part in everything. The beauty of a weekend retreat is the opportunity to do just that: retreat. For some this might mean finding time to connect with others, to get involved in everything or to spend time on your own. We encourage everyone to take time to pause and ask yourself: what in this moment do I want? And then do that.

Accommodation

There are a number of accommodation options. Please contact us to find out more and check availability.

Main house

In the main house there are

  • Double room with private bathrooms. This is a beautifully spacious room with the a gorgeous wrought iron bed, wooden floor boards and chaize lounge. This will suit either a couple sharing or someone on their own looking for single room occupancy.

  • Triple room with en-suite bathroom. This would suit a group of friends travelling together. The room has 3 single beds and is beautifully decorated. There is an option to add another set of bunk beds into this room if a larger group of 5 wanted to share. Please contact us for details.

Cabanas

Behind the main house there are three cabanas: these are beautiful stone cottages, containing a double bedroom, bathroom and spacious living area. There would be ideal for either a couple sharing or someone coming on their own looking for some space to themselves. Some have open fires for that extra cosy feel.

Cottage

Just beside the main house, there is another cottage. This contains a double bedroom and a twin room, along with bathroom, beautiful living room and kitchen. There is garden furniture at the front of the cottage to take in the incredible views across Clew Bay. The cottage has a wood burning stove in the cosy and comfortable living room, again providing ample space to relax & unwind.

“Min & Jonnie are the best hosts and would bend over backwards (yoga pun intended!) to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and at ease.”
